Holding yourself up to other people's standards. I think my standards are pretty solid, meaning, I am pretty comfortable with the thoughts that enter and exit my head. In fact, I will usually stand by them even when they are blatantly false. That is how much I trust myself overall.
So, when a cop says something you did is "very illegal", when things get deleted or professors say things like, "you are too far long in your career to be this sloppy", I say things like, "Thank you officer" "That's cool" and "I would despise myself if THIS were my career."
You know what? Everyone's right.
